The Jackson Fire Rescue conducted several activities during the month of October to commemorate Fire Prevention Week.
"We just couldn't fit it all into one week," said Public Information Officer Steve Baugh. "We've had so many requests for tours and stuff that we made a whole month of it."
Baugh and Captain Curtis Sparks conducted fire station tours for over 400 children and 70 adults during the week of Oct. 4-10 and many during the rest of the month.
In addition, Jackson and Fruitland Fire Departments conducted safety programs for over 350 children using the Cape County Fire Fighters Association Smoke House at Westlane Elementary in Jackson.
Programs were also conducted for the public, including CPR for 28 Jackson R-2 bus drivers. These programs are available for children and adults. For more information or to schedule a tour for your school, civic or church group, contact Baugh at (573) 243-1010.
