Miranda C. Maddox, 22, and Christopher Wade Magers, 24, of Jackson were arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and unlawful use of a weapon after a search by Jackson police on Sunday.
Their bonds were set at $15,000 cash or surety.
Members of the Jackson Police Department’s special-response team executed a search warrant signed by Judge Gary Kamp at 7:45 a.m. Sunday at an apartment at 930 N. Main St., according to a probable-cause statement filed by officer Jesse Houseman.
Maddox and Magers were in an upstairs bedroom, where they were given the copy of the warrant, Houseman wrote.
In the room, officers found a safe containing 30 grams of marijuana and 34 Xanax bars, a plastic case with .22-caliber rifle ammunition, a .22-caliber revolver inside an air vent, a bag with a gram of marijuana and a prenatal vitamin bottle with 116 pills of assorted shapes and sizes on top of plastic drawers, according to the statement.
Houseman wrote scales and baggies were found and are indicative of packaging drugs for distribution.
Unlawful use of a weapon was charged because of the possession of a weapon with a controlled substance, which is illegal under Missouri law.
