Our recent trip to Jefferson City to visit with the Missouri Department of Economic Development and to appear before the Missouri Highway Commission was a big success. Our discussions with the economic development department were very informative and useful for our continued future growth in Jackson.
Our appearance at the highway commission meeting included a presentation on our proposed East Main Street interchange at Interstate 55. We have worked very hard on this and hope to be placed on the highway commission's plan for future funding very soon.

Planning continues for our scheduled move into our new city hall this fall. We hope to move within 60 days after Boatmen's moves into their new facility. One question that remains is the future location and status of our library. We are continuing to explore all options for the library and it will remain in its present location until a firm decision is made.
Construction continues to boom in Jackson and it is quite clear that 1995 is going to be another record year.
The city will take bids soon on a new restroom for Brookside Park. This is another step to improve and further develop this beautiful new park area in Jackson.
In cooperation with the Jackson Chamber of Commerce, we hope to soon have a new "Welcome to Jackson" sign along the east Highway 61 corridor coming into Jackson. This will be a nice improvement to welcome those coming to our town from the east.
The Jackson City Council meets every Monday night at City Hall at 7:30 p.m. I welcome your attendance and your input to make Jackson an even better place.
