The weather-plagued Jackson Christmas Parade scheduled for Saturday has been canceled for this year due to the threat of inclement weather.
According to Brian Gerau, director of the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce, the cancellation was necessary because of the weather conditions that could arise and the ability to keep reorganizing the parade.
"We would just have to keep postponing the parade," Gerau said.
Gerau said that questions about the cancellation should be directed to the chamber of commerce at 243-8131.
The National Weather Service in Paducah, Ky., has forecast a 90 percent chance of snow and sleet for Friday night and a 70 percent chance of a rain and snow mixture on Saturday.
