Power and Light Committee

* Approved a bill proposing an ordinance accepting the dedication of recreation trail easement deeds from the reorganized school district R-2, regarding the West Independence Street and East Lane recreation trail projects.

Street Committee

* Voted to set a public hearing for Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m. to consider the requests to vacate portions of West Madison Street and South Russell Street, as requested by the Reorganized School District R-2.

* Voted to set a public hearing for Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m., to consider the rezoning of certain properties along West Jackson Boulevard, under the West Jackson boulevard comprehensive rezoning project, phase 2.

* Voted to set a public hearing for Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. to consider rezoning of approximately 37.5 acres of property in Terrace Park Estates Subdivision, from R-1 (Single Family Residential) District and R-2 (Single Family Residential) District to R-2 (Single Family Residential) District, R-3 (One and Two Family Residential) District and C-2 (General Commercial) District, as submitted by Donkers Inc.

* Approved authorizing the closure of certain streets in the Central Business District on Oct. 4 at 4 p.m., for the annual band festival parade.

* Approved a bill proposing an ordinance amending the "Parking Schedule -- Schedule IX," by adding parking prohibited designations on Gloria Street.

* Approved a bill proposing an ordinance adopting the 2003 edition of the International Building Code and the 2003 edition of the International Residential Code.

* Approved a bill proposing an ordinance adopting the 2003 edition of the International Mechanical Code.

* Approved a bill proposing an ordinance adopting the 2003 edition of the International Plumbing Code.

* Approved a bill proposing an ordinance adopting the 2003 edition of the International Fuel Gas Code.

* Approved a bill proposing an ordinance adopting the 2003 edition of the International Fire Code.

* Approved a bill proposing an ordinance adopting the National Electrical Code (NEC) 2003.

* Approved a bill proposing an ordinance amending certain sections of the Code of Ordinances of the city of Jackson regarding the adoption or application of certain International Codes.
