Public hearings

Held a hearing to consider the voluntary annexation of 9.87 acres of property (to be known as East Ridge Place Subdivision), as submitted by P.B. Properties, LLC.

* Held a hearing to consider the rezoning of 0.45 acres of property addressed as 2950 Old Toll Road, from R-2 (single family residential) district to C-2 (general commercial) district, and 1.74 acres of property addressed as 2950 Old Toll Road, from C-2 (general commercial) district to I-1 (light industrial) district, as submitted by Chug and Julie Crites.

Action Items

Power and Light Committee

* Authorized the installation of a public information sign in the Jackson Soccer Park.

* Accepted the bid from Rockhill and Sons Mowing of Jackson in the amount of $475 per month, for the 2006 through 2009 mowing seasons, relative to the 2006-2009 city mowing project; and accepted the bid of $215 per mowing event, for the 2006 through 2009 mowing seasons, relative to the 2006-2009 Jackson Soccer Park mowing project.

* Authorized a contractual agreement with Rockhill and Sons Mowing, relative to providing mowing services under the 2006-2009 city mowing project and the 2006-2009 Jackson Soccer Park mowing project.

* Authorized a contractual agreement with Strickland Engineering of Jackson in the amount of $21,088.32, regarding providing engineering services for the Oak Street recreation trail project.

* Authorized a contractual agreement with Fabick Power Systems Inc., of Fenton, Mo., to provide services under the power plant generation start-up project.

* Authorized a contractual agreement with the American Public Power Association and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, relative to participating in a mutual aid program.

* Authorized a contractual agreement with the Missouri Public Utility Alliance, relative to participating in a mutual aid program.

Street Committee

* Set a public hearing for 7:30 p.m. April 17 to consider the rezoning of 15.14 acres of property (known as a portion of the future East Ridge Place Subdivision), from R-2 (single family residential) district to R-1 (single family residential) district, as submitted by P.B. Properties, LLC.

* Approved the closure of West Jackson Street, between South Farmington Road and South Bast Street, from noon to 6 p.m. April 1 for a wedding ceremony, as requested by Nikki Crader.

* Approved the mayor's appointment of Jim Shank to fill an unexpired term on the Planning and Zoning Commission ending on April 30, 2009.

* Approved the preliminary plat of Jackson Ridge Estates Subdivision, as submitted by Jackson Ridge Estates Development Co., LLC.

* Accepted a Jackson Ridge Drive Deed of Dedication from Melrud Farms Inc.; and a Hillcrest Drive deed of dedication from Seabaugh Construction Co. Inc.

* Approved the re-plat of street right of way in Southwestern Realty and Improvement Co. Subdivision, as submitted by the city of Jackson.

* Approved the minor plat of Pulliam Subdivision, as submitted by Donald and Patsy Pulliam.

* Corrected an error in ordinance No. 06-18, regarding the voluntary annexation of 4.27 acres of property known as a portion of South Farmington Road right of way, owned by the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Amendments

* Authorized the city of Jackson to apply for funding under the Missouri Department of Transportation Enhancement Program on behalf of the Jackson Uptown Historical District.

* Accepted correspondence dated March 17 from Rice, Spaeth, Summers and Heisser, L.C., on behalf of Warren Place, LC, to amend the specific terms and conditions contained within the approved East Main Street deed of dedication, regarding the East Main Street extension project.
