Action Items
Approved placement of street lights at 3024 E. Jackson Blvd. and on the 800 block of August Street.
Approved a contract with City Water and Light of Jonesboro, Ark., relative to the purchase of electricity. The Jonesboro organization provides 20 to 40 percent of Jackson's electricity annually.
Approved an ordinance setting the general election as April 4. Voters will select a mayor, four aldermen and a city collector.
Street Committee
Approved a contract with Orchard Investments Inc. relative to granting an easement for the Interstate 55 Water Tower.
Rejected a request to authorize parking on Greensferry Road between North Hope and North Georgia streets. Emergency assistance officials had advised against approving the request.
Rejected a request to continue financial support of the I-66 Project.
Changed the dates for several meetings to accommodate various holidays.
Awarded a bid for a 20-yard Packer Body for sanitation truck to Armor Equipment of Farmington.
