City Hall
The city of Jackson took the following action:
-- Changed the council meeting from Monday, Sept. 6 to Tuesday, Sept. 7 because of Labor Day.
-- Set a hearing for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7 on the city's proposed potable water-user charge.
-- Authorized Advantage Engineering to design upgrades to city's power plant substation.
-- Authorized Burns & McDonnell Engineering Co. Inc. to prepare a water study and analysis for the city.
-- Authorized Burns & McDonnell to design water main improvements relative to city's water bond projects.
-- Amended Chapter 20, Article II, Section 20-807 and 20-808 of the Code of Ordinances relative to out-of-district sewer connection fees.
Street Committee
-- Set a hearing for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7 to rezone property at 2955 E. Jackson Blvd. from R-2 (single-family residential to C-2 (general commercial) as submitted by Narvol Randol Jr.
-- Authorized advertising for bids for the 1999 Asphalt Overlay Program Projects.
-- Approved paying Lappe Cement Finishing Inc. $245,552.44 under the East Main Street Extension Project Contract.
-- Approved rezoning a portion of property addressed as 2854 E. Main St. from R-3 to C-2 as submitted by John Lichtenegger of Appleton Valley Farm Inc.
-- Approving annexing property owned by Wade Hartle.
-- Tabled approving the voluntary annexation of property owned by Progressive Developments, L.L.C., and Robert and Renee Barks.
-- Approved annexing property owned by James B. Henderson Trust, LaWanna Henderson Trustee, Todd Rushing and Ronald Richmond.
-- Approved annexing property owned by the Jackson Jaycee Charitable Foundation Inc.
-- Approved annexing property owned by Narvol A. Randol Jr. and Amy C. Randol.
