Jackson announces summer construction zones

The city of Jackson announced several summer construction zones and holiday road closures in a news release.

Active summer work zones

* Highway 25 at South Elementary for roadway improvements

* Route D to Highway. 61 to the city limit line for roadway improvements

* North Hope Street from Florence Street to Greensferry Road for roadway improvements

* East Lane from Highway 72 to Orchard Drive for recreation trail construction

* South Missouri Street from Highway 72 to West Monroe Street for Jackson High School building construction

* Oak Street from Elwanda Drive to Rolling Fields Drive at Rocky Branch for sanitary sewer construction

* Highway PP near Dogwood Avenue for sanitary sewer construction

* West Washington Street from North Russell Street to North Oklahoma Street for sidewalk construction

* Citywide for annual concrete street repair program

Temporary road closures

* Parkview Street in the City Park for the Indepedence Day Celebration.

* Main Street, South High Street, Barton Street and Court Street from July 27 to July 31 for the Homecomers Celebration.
