The Jackson Board of Aldermen approved a motion Monday night to set the fall clean-up, fix-up week for Oct. 13 to 17.
During this week, residents do not have to purchase trash bag stickers for more than three bags.
Trash routes will run on their regularly scheduled days and all refuse must be placed at the curb by 8 a.m.
All items will be disposed of, including trash cans. Grass or leaves will not be picked up during this week.
Brush and limbs bust be tied in bundles in 4- to 5-foot lengths, not to exceed 60 pounds.
Residents may place only one appliance on the curb; a $10 fee will be charged for each additional appliance. No motor oils, hazardous materials or tires will be picked up and paint should be dry or have lids tightly secured on top.
In other action:
Approved a change order in the amount of $400 to G&C Contracting, Inc., of Perryville, Mo. relative to the Jackson Soccer Park/Meier Industrial Park sanitary sewer extension project. (The change order was for an additional manhole.)
Approved a change order of $2,875.55 to Dutch Enterprises Inc., of Jackson, relative to the Rosewood Estates interceptor sewer. (The change order was for additional rock excavation.)
Approved a motion to accept report from the Missouri Local Government Employees Retirement System, LAGERS, relative to potential change in benefits. (Passage of this resolution did not commit the city to any change in the current retirement plan.)
Approved an ordinance authorizing the mayor to sign depository agreements with Bank of America.
Approved an ordinance accepting the dedication of a water line easement deed from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau.
Approved a motion authorizing the barricading of streets for the Veteran's Day Parade on Nov. 11, 2003.
Approved an ordinance authorizing a contractual agreement with the County of Cape Girardeau relative to the collection of property taxes for the city of Jackson.
Approved an ordinance approving the partial abandonment of a detention basin easement in Green Meadows subdivision.
Approved an ordinance accepting the dedication of a detention basin easement deed from Appleton Valley Farm Inc, and William J. Penrod.
Approved a motion accepting the bid of Apex Paving Co., of Sikeston, Mo., in the amount of $84,409.50, relative to the 2003 asphalt street overlay program.
Approved an ordinance authorizing a contractual agreement with Apex Paving Co., relative to the improvements under the 2003 asphalt street overlay program.
