Disc golf is coming to Jackson's Litz Park soon, thanks to a donation from a local foundation.
Jackson's board of aldermen on Monday night approved a donation from the Play For Parker Foundation that would fund about half the project.
A 50-50 cost-sharing agreement between the foundation and the city of Jackson has been approved to cover the course's $21,526.44 estimated cost.
Public works director Rodney Bollinger said via email that number includes the cost of course design, tee pads, baskets and other miscellaneous items, such as signage.
The Play For Parker Foundation is a charitable organization founded in memory of 10-year-old Parker King, who died in a UTV, or utility task vehicle, accident in 2012.
