The Jackson license office has been awarded to Deuce Enterprises. The company is associated with Gerry Jones of Jackson, who has been the office agent since 2005.
The company was one of four that submitted bids. In January, Gov. Jay Nixon implemented a new system of choosing local motor vehicle and license office agents.
The new system stresses competition and office efficiency, according to a news release from the Department of Revenue. Of the 183 license offices, 87 have been awarded.
The office in Jackson will stay at 125 E. Main St.
