- Hearing to discuss city's submission of an application to the State of Missouri for the Community Block Grant Program and to obtain citizen input on community and economic development needs within the city.
Action Items
Power and Light Committee
- Consider a resolution stating the intent of the City of Jackson to seek funding through the Community Development Block Grant Program and authorizing the mayor to pursue activities in an attempt to secure funding.
- Consider a motion accepting certified election results.
- Consider a motion to change the regular council meeting date from Monday, May 7, to Wednesday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. and to reschedule the public hearing on the voluntary annexation of property owned by K-Bar-K, L.L.C., from May 7 to May 2 at 7:30 p.m.
- Consider a bill proposing an ordinance amending the 2001 budget.
- Consider a motion accepting the bid of Armor Equipment Co. of Arnold, Mo., in the amount of $76,696 and authorizing the purchase of a 2001 18-yard Ford refuse truck.
Street committee
- Consider a motion authorizing payment of $85,116.81 to Kluesner Construction Inc. under the 2001 Joint Sealing Maintenance Contract.
- Consider a resolution requesting the Missouri Department of Transportation's continued study and cooperation in recommending and implementing improvements to alleviate traffic congestion and improve traffic flow along major arterial state and federal routes throughout the city.
