Musical instruments, equipment and cash that were reported stolen last month from a Cape Girardeau church were recovered in a Jefferson County storage building, police said Friday.
Police were notified by authorities in Jefferson County that the items were found last week, said department spokesman Darin Hickey. Cape Girardeau Police Department officers went there and recovered everything that was reported stolen except one laptop and an amplifier, Hickey said.
The Apostolic Promise Church at 750 N. Mount Auburn Road reported musical equipment, electronics and an unknown amount of cash stolen on Jan. 12. The culprits apparently entered the church through a window, although it was unknown whether the window was locked because it was not broken.
No one has been charged the crimes, Hickey said, although he noted that the recovered items were being sent to the crime lab to process for fingerprints.
