Main Street in Jackson will be closed at Highway 34 starting next week as progress continues on constructing additional lanes to the highway.
Main Street will close starting at 7 a.m. Monday, weather permitting. The closure is expected to last about two weeks. Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes around the work zone.
The Highway 34 project includes widening the existing route to four lanes, resurfacing, replacing a bridge and adding signals, curbs and gutters. Construction on the first phase of the three-mile project is expected to be completed this fall.
