Grant Station, a Web-based interactive resource, is the United Way's most recent addition to the Grant Resource Center.

It gives their sponsored agencies access to a constantly renewed resource with interactive tools and tutorials for access to grants from federal, state, foundation and other grant agency sources. Hard copies of these and other resources are also provided through the United Way office.

Social service agencies are now competing with cities, schools, communities, businesses and even states for funding that was once brought into their service via community support, taxes, churches or other fund-raising activities.

The United Way of Southeast Missouri has recently partnered with Southeast Missouri State University to co-sponsor a grant writing workshop to help answer questions people may have about grant proposals, substantiating their requests with statistics and providing well-developed plans.

It will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 30 at the University Center Indiana Room on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University.

For more information, contact Regina Tucker, grant program director, at 334-9634, or by e-mail at regina.tucker@unitedwayofsemo.org.
