The Republican incumbents in Perry County's two contested races both won the county's approval in Tuesday's midterm election.

Carl "Topper" Leuckel Jr. was re-elected by voters to his second term as Perry County Presiding Commissioner, beating out his opponent Stanley Grantham by more than 3,600 votes.

Leuckel received 78 percent of votes cast. He couldn't be reached for comment Tuesday night.

Republican Michael Bullerdieck will sit another four years on the bench as Associate Circuit Court Judge, after Perry County residents gave him 3,363 votes. Bullerdieck, whose served Perry County as circuit judge since 1986, said Tuesday night he was thrilled to be reelected.

Craig Brewer, with 2,757 votes, conceded just before 9 p.m., according to Bullerdieck.

"We plan on doing the good job we've done the last 24 years," Bullerdieck said.
