Sentence: Five months

Summary: On March 12, Cape Girardeau police arrested Cruz-Guzman for the misdemeanors of resisting a lawful stop and driving while intoxicated in Cape Girardeau. On March 21, he pleaded guilty to the charges in the Circuit Court of Cape Girardeau County. Cruz-Guzman had previously been removed from the United States to Mexico on Jan. 21, 2005, from the port of Paso Del Norte Bridge in Texas.

This case was investigated by the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Assistant United States Attorney Paul W. Hahn handled the prosecution for the Government.
