SIKESTON, Mo. -- An impostor is apparently issuing his own code enforcement violations.
The city of Sikeston warned Thursday that an impersonator is mailing code enforcement violation letters regarding improper deposit of debris on sidewalks, streets and alleys. According to reports from city officials, this correspondence is not on city letterhead and is unsigned.
If residents receive such a letter, they are asked to call city hall at 573-471-2512.
While the Sikeston Code Enforcement Office issues warnings and citations for the violation of the City Code, Section 505.350, Depositing Debris, warning letters are issued on city stationery and bear a return address of 105 E. Center St., according to a news release. Letters are signed by code enforcement personnel and contain the brochure "Stormwater Pollution Prevention."
