TAMMS, Ill. -- Southern Illinois lawmakers are fighting back after Gov. Pat Quinn vetoed $57 million in Department of Corrections funding Saturday.
Rep. Mike Bost, R-Murphysboro, said he's requesting an emergency session of the legislature. Rep. Brandon Phelps, D-Harrisburg, is marshaling support to fight Quinn if he tries to use corrections money for other programs, as expected.
