JONESBORO, Ill. -- An Anna, Ill., man has been sentenced to six years in prison for his role in a methamphetamine and heroin distribution ring authorities uncovered last month at his home, Union County State's Attorney Tyler Edmonds said Tuesday.
Charles L. Kimmel Jr., 23, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to participate in methamphetamine production, Edmonds said in a news release.
Kimmel was arrested Sept. 17 after an investigation by the Union County Sheriff's Department into drug activity at his house at 115 Kohler St. in Anna, the release said.
Kimmel was one of eight people arrested in connection with the investigation.
In September, Edmonds said deputies executed a search warrant Aug. 16 at the house and arrested Ty W. Dalton, 40; Jeanne L. Dalton, 42; and Frankie L. Fowler, 20, all of Anna.
A grand jury indicted the Daltons, Fowler and four other suspects on charges related to the investigation, Edmonds said last month.
Jenny Spurlock, 30, of Jonesboro; Chance C. Chapman, 18, of rural Cobden, Ill.; Larry B. Ledbetter, 27, of rural Wolf Lake, Ill.; and Meagan L. Miller, 20, of rural Dongola, Ill., all were charged in the case, Edmonds said.
