Several charges were levied this week against a Ware, Ill., man for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl.

Andrew J. Trammel, 21, was charged with three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and one count of aggravated criminal sexual assault for two incidents, according to Union County State's Attorney Allen W. James.

Trammel is accused of having forcible sex and fondling the girl April 21 at his home, according to James. Eight days later, on April 29, the girl's cousin drove her to Trammel's home where he again fondled her.

When the girl did not return home that weekend, family members began searching for her. She and Trammel were found Monday by police more than 40 miles away at the defendant's grandmother's house in Royalton, Ill., according to James.

The girl told investigators she did not want to have sex with Trammel, James said.

The case was still under investigation Friday night, and charges could be filed against the defendant in Franklin County, where Royalton is located, he said.

The sexual assault charge is a Class X felony that could bring a sentence of 6 to 30 years in prison, according to James.
