North- and southbound Interstate 55 in Cape Girardeau and Scott counties will be reduced to one lane today, while the Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane from Highway 74 at the Dutchtown exit to U.S. 61 at Scott City.
Weather permitting, the work will be done from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
