PUXICO -- The Missouri Department of Conservation and U.S. Fish and wildlife Service, will jointly sponsor a hunter education course Aug. 24.
The day-long course will be held at Mingo National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center near Puxico, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Included in the training will be gun safety, information about firearms and ammunition, the role of the hunter and hunting in wildlife management and conservation, responsibilities of the outdoorsman, outdoor ethics and hunter preparedness.
In Missouri, anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 1967 must a have valid hunter education card to buy a hunting permit.
