Hospitals release three wounded in plant shooting

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- At least three of the five men wounded in Tuesday night's shooting at a Jefferson City manufacturing plant have been released from mid-Missouri hospitals.

Police said the five men were wounded when 25-year-old Jonathon Russell arrived for the third shift at the Modine Manufacturing Co. plant around 10:30 p.m. and began shooting, killing three. Russell later drove to Jefferson City police headquarters, and after a confrontation with officers, killed himself.

Kevin Rash, of Jefferson City, was released from University Hospital in Columbia on Friday, a day after Mike Crabil, also of Jefferson City, was released from the facility.

Bill Gerloff, of Chamois, was released Friday from St. Marys Health Center in Jefferson City, where Travis Parker was listed in fair condition Friday evening. Parker was originally placed in intensive care after the shooting.

A spokeswoman at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City said Jim Veasman, of Iberia, was no longer at the hospital Friday. She said she was not allowed to say whether he had been released from the hospital or left under other conditions.

Terry Wilson, 44, of Holts Summit; Ricky Borts, 29, of California, Mo.; and supervisor Tim Wilbers, 42, of Holts Summit, died in the shooting.
