ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A homeless man accused of fatally stabbing another homeless man at a St. Louis shelter pleads not guilty.
Robert Gamble is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 21-year-old Jeremy Dunlap in February of last year. Gamble entered the plea on Monday.
Investigators say the victim was killed near a sleeping area of the New Life Evangelistic Center where both men were staying. Police believe the attack happened because Gamble was angry about being assaulted earlier in the same day, though Dunlap was not involved in that incident.
Gamble fled after the attack but was captured about six blocks away from the center.
