The Jackson American Legion is busy making plans for the annual Homecomers celebration, Aug. 12-16. Each night, except Saturday, the talent show will be sure to please the crowds gathered on the court house lawn. The Jackson American Legion is busy making plans for the annual Homecomers celebration, Aug. 12-16. Each night, except Saturday, the talent show will be sure to please the crowds gathered on the court house lawn.

Amateur acts of singing, dancing, acrobatics and instrumentals are invited in singles, duets and groups. There will be no piano entrees. For more information about entering call Jim Nelson at 243-4462 or E.P. Kurre at 243-4140. All enrollment forms must be turned in by Wednesday, Aug. 6.

Cash prizes will be awarded to first through fourth place on each night. The winners from each night will compete on Friday night and the top four will receive plaques and cash prizes.

The overall winners of the age group 13-21 will be invited to the Youth Talent Contest at the Mid-South Fair in Memphis, Tenn., Sept. 18-28.

A representative from the Mid-South Fair will be present on Friday night of Homecomers and it is possible that more than the first place winners will be invited to the Memphis event.
