COLUMBIA -- The March inventory of Missouri hogs and pigs was estimated at 2.7 million head, up six percent from March of 1990, but down four percent from December of last year.
Six states had inventories larger than Missouri Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Indiana, Nebraska and North Carolina.
Nationwide, the march inventory of all hogs and pigs was estimated at 42.4 million head, four percent below the December, 1990 inventory.
