PADUCAH, Ky. — The National Weather Wervice issued a wind advisory, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today for all of Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois, and Kentucky's western counties, including Paducah in McCracken County.
The approaching storm front from the west will increase south to southwest winds today. These strengthening winds will average 20 to 35 miles per hour during the afternoon and evening with some gusts to 45 miles an hour possible.
The main hazard from these high winds will be falling branches from recent ice storm damaged trees.
Drivers should be cautious as travelling will be more difficult, especially for higher-profile vehicles. Use extra caution while working outdoors.
The strong winds may cause minor property damage without extra precautions.
