For the second day in a row, Courtney Wingerter recorded the hit that drove in Emma Nelson to score the game-winning walk-off run for the Perryville softball team. Wingerter's hit gave the Pirates a 5-4 eight-inning victory over visiting Saxony Lutheran on Wednesday.

Wingerter also had the hit that drove in Emma Nelson in Perryville's 5-4 walk-off win over Sikeston on Tuesday.

Macey Hall went the distance in the circle to clinch the win for Perryville (3-2). She gave up two earned runs and recorded 10 strikeouts and walked 11. The Crusaders stranded 15 runners on base.

Kelli Brunke sustained the loss. She pitched 7 2/3 innings and allowed five earned runs. She struck out one and walked one.

Grace Mirly hit a three-run home run for Saxony Lutheran (3-2).

Lindsay Elfrink blasted a triple and got on base in both of her at-bats as the undefeated Bulldogs made quick work of the winless Cougars in the three-inning road romp in the suburban St. Louis area.

Haylie Santos was the winning pitcher. She threw two innings and recorded two strikeouts for Notre Dame (4-0).

Gabby Johnson went the distance in the circle and sustained the loss for Affton (0-5).

The host Tigers swept all six singles matches to defeat the archrival Indians, who won all three of the doubles matches.

Central improved to 3-2 while Jackson fell to 2-3.

Abbie McAlister had 11 kills as the Bulldogs notched their first SEMO Conference regular-season victory in a sweep of the winless Rams.

Marianna Below had 12 digs for Notre Dame (3-0, 1-0 SEMO Conference). Sam Brennan and Lexi Welter each recorded nine digs and three kills. Taylor Allen served three aces and Sam Feeney dished out 13 assists for the Bulldogs.

Hannah Shemonia had nine digs and Kaleigh Dirden put up two blocks to pace Scott City (0-3, 0-1).

JV -- Notre Dame won in two sets.

Perryville 25 25 25, Farmington 22 22 23

Ahnie Hoff recorded 16 kills and six digs to lead the Pirates to a tight victory over the Knightettes in a best three-out-of-five match.

Brooke Hogard tallied 12 kills for Perryville (3-0) and Kayla Buxton dished out 31 assists and had one ace.

Farmington fell to 2-2 with the loss.

JV -- Farmington won 23-25, 26-24, 25-20

Leopold 25 25, Marquand-Zion 5 11

Klara Beel served five aces and hammered three kills as the Wildcats picked up their first win of the season in an easy conference road rout of the Tigers.

Emily Seiler served six aces and added two kills for Leopold (1-4, 1-0 Mississippi Valley Conference). Lexi Vandeven served seven aces and Patience VanderMierden recorded six aces and six assists for the Wildcats.

Marquand-Zion fell to 0-1 in its season opener.

FALL BASEBALL

Oran 6, Bloomfield 3

Tanner McVay hit a double and drove in two runs to lead the undefeated Eagles in the road win over the Wildcats.

Layne Johnson got the win on the mound for Oran (4-0). He pitched 4 1/3 innings and gave up three earned runs on five hits. He had seven strikeouts and walked three.

Tim Hector went the distance and sustained the loss for Bloomfield (2-6). He gave up five earned runs, struck out 11 and walked four.
