JACKSON -- Dr. Gary Kremer, a history professor at Williams Woods University, will be guest speaker at the Jackson Heritage Association's annual meeting and awards banquet on Jan. 25 at Bent Creek Golf Club.
A social will begin at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m.
The program topic is Local History as Self-Discovery and is funded by the Missouri Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities. Kremer's discussion will focus on ways in which studying local history can help groups or communities understand more about themselves.
