Linda Lawrence, a cardiac rehabilitation nurse at St. Francis Medical Center, will present a two-part program designed to help people lose weight and reduce their risk of heart disease.
The program will be presented Feb. 25 and March 4 at the St. Francis Health and Education Centre in Cape Girardeau.
The program's goal is to teach participants how to recognize fat in everyday cooking, analyze fat content on food labels, choose "heart-healthy" foods when eating out, and interpret their own cholesterol test results. A number of recipes will also be available.
The program's registration fee is $5 per session. To register or for more information, call the St. Francis Information Center at 243-5222.
