The sounds of gospel music will reverberate through the A.C. Brase Arena Building Friday when The Happy Goodmans perform in concert.
The group will perform at 7:30 p.m.. The concert is one of several stops on an 11-city summer tour.
The Happy Goodmans have been performing for 50 years. They have appeared on national networks and performed with evangelists Oral Roberts and Billy Graham.
They have recorded 13 No. 1 songs, won two Grammy awards and several Dove awards from the Gospel Music Association.
The original group started as the Goodman Family: Howard Goodman and his sisters, Ruth, Eloise, Stella and Gussie Mae, along with brothers Sam and Rusty. The group changed over the years, and now members are Howard Goodman and his wife, Vestal, and pianist Johnny Minick.
In recent years, The Happy Goodmans have been part of the Gaither Homecoming Series shown on TNN and TBN networks.
