Veronica Hambacker won Tuesday's three-way Democratic primary for the 8th District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

According to unofficial results from the Missouri secretary of state's office, Hambacker, of Salem, Mo., took the Democratic nomination with about 40 percent of the votes.

Two precincts had not been reported at press time.

Hambacker will face off against unopposed Republican incumbent Jo Ann Emerson and Libertarian candidate Branden C. McCullough in November's general election.

Gene Curtis, of Matthews, Mo., received approximately 34 percent and Earl Durnell, of Cabool, Mo., received about 25 percent of the votes.
