ULLIN, Ill. -- An Alexander County resident has died from complications related to the H1N1 flu virus, according to a news release from the Southern Seven Health Department based in Ullin.
In addition to H1N1 flu, the person who died also had other medical conditions. The health department said it will not release any other information, including the person's identity, to protect the privacy of the deceased and his or her family.
The Southern Seven Health Department has a limited supply of H1N1 vaccine and is taking appointments at all its sites for people falling in the following priority groups defined by the CDC:
-- pregnant women
-- people who live with or provide care for infants younger than 6 months old
-- health care and emergency medical services personnel
-- people 6 months to 24 years old
-- people 25 to 64 years old who have certain medical conditions associated with a higher risk of flu complications
