A manager at BG's said the man was apologetic, and after the weapon fired, he waited outside near his vehicle for police to arrive. The man called the police department himself and was not taken into custody. Police did not release his name.

Hickey said although the incident was accidental and the weapon was legal, the man responded correctly by notifying police. He also did not violate any city ordinance.
