Spec. Hoffman is the son of Jerry and Jackie Hoffman of Cape Girardeau and a graduate of Cape Central High School.
He joined the Army in 1987 and completed basic training at Fort Dix, N.J.
Before being sent to Saudi Arabia, he was stationed in Alasca three years. He is a mechanic on an aircraft helicopter.
His wife, PFC Cherry Hoffman also serves in the Army. They have a 4-month-old daughter, Casey.
