S. SGT. JIMMY GOCKEL

Gockel has been enlisted in the Air Force for the past 12 years. He attended Cape Central High School, and earned a degree in criminal justice from Southeast Missouri State University.

While he was a student, he worked as a security guard at West Park Mall.

He was stationed at England Air Force Base, La., before being deployed to the Gulf on Jan. 28.

His parents, Gus and Gisela Gockel of Cape Girardeau, said their son would appreciate as much mail as possible. "Jimmy says mail is the best part of the day," his mother said.
