Spec. Bahner is the son of Alice Bahner of Cape Girardeau. He attended Cape Central High School before enlisting in the Army in March, 1989.
He is married to Lee An Bahner, who lives in Cape Girardeau with the couple's 18-month-old son, Kyle.
Prior to being sent to Saudi Arabia on Jan. 7, Bahner was stationed at Ft. Drum in New York.
He is with the 642 Engineering Company, and drives big equipment.
His mother said the Army is feeding her son well. "He hasn't gotten any mail yet, though," she said, adding that one of her son's interests is motrocycles.
