Greenspan warns about 'creeping protectionism'

BERLIN -- Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan renewed a warning Tuesday that "creeping protectionism" could hurt the flexibility of the global economy. Greenspan's remarks came in a speech delivered in Berlin at an event for the German central bank.

Lawsuits limited against regional phone firms

WASHINGTON -- The Supreme Court ruled unanimously Tuesday that regional telephone companies cannot be sued under federal antitrust law, with its lucrative promise of triple damages to winners, by consumers alleging anticompetitive practices. Justices blocked an avenue for people to sue over claims that phone companies are not cooperating with government-ordered competition.
