Authorities say the Great Dane attacked and killed Buddy, a 10-year-old golden retriever, on March 30 at Quail Ridge Park in the off-leash dog area.

Buddy's owner said St. Charles County authorities have worked out a plan for the Great Dane, and he is satisfied with the arrangement.

Zeus had been held by St. Charles County animal control officers at a facility in St. Peters since the day after the attack.
