PINEVILLE, Mo. (AP) -- A grand jury has indicted the leader of a southwest Missouri church community on charges of abusing two girls in his congregation.
The eight counts supersede identical charges filed by the McDonald County prosecutor late last year.
Raymond Lambert is accused of abusing two teenage girls several times between February 1995 and April 2004.
The 52-year-old Lambert is pastor of Grand Valley Independent Baptist Church. The church is a live-in community on a farm in rural McDonald County.
Prosecutors said the grand jury indictment means Lambert's case will move directly to McDonald County Circuit Court without a preliminary hearing. His arraignment is scheduled for next Tuesday.
