Describing the new program as a "major new initiative to make our schools a safer place to learn and teach," Carnahan will visit with the student advisory committee, consisting of student representatives from each grade level, at Cape Central High School at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The stop is one of three for Carnahan Tuesday. He will visit with the student council at Kickapoo High School in Springfield at 11:30 a.m. and with a government glass and members of a conflict mediation program at St. Joseph Central High School at 1:45 p.m.
