Gov. Nixon renominates Mehner to Missouri Development Finance Board

Gov. Jay Nixon on Tuesday renominated Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce president and CEO John Mehner to serve on the Missouri Development Finance Board.

The nomination is subject to confirmation by the Missouri Senate.

The finance board administers a range of financing programs for Missouri businesses, local governments and state agencies; issues taxable or tax-exempt industrial revenue bonds; and provides market rate or low-interest loans and grants to political subdivisions to fund public infrastructure improvements.

Mehner has led the local chamber since 1993. If confirmed by the Senate, Mehner’s term on the finance board would end Sept. 14, 2019.
