JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Gov. Matt Blunt plans to take his family on a three-day tour of a dozen Missouri parks and historic sites next week as a way to promote Missouri tourism.
Blunt says more people may want to vacation closer to home this year because of high gas prices.
His journey by recreational vehicle is to start Monday at Dillard Mill State Historic Site and end two days later with the dedication of the Lewis and Clark Trailhead Monument in Jefferson City.
Along the way, he plans to stop in Pilot Knob, Ste. Genevieve, Goldman, Hermann, Florida, Laclede, Kansas City, Lawson, Lexington and Arrow Rock.
