Charlene William Peyton will be the featured guest entertainer tonight at the Cape Girardeau Municipal Band's final concert of the season.
Also, in keeping with the summer concert tradition, children in the audience will be given a small baton and invited to direct as the band plays "Cape Muny Band March."
Peyton, a vocalist, will perform contemporary gospel selections during the concert, which will begin at 8 p.m. at the Capaha Park band shell.
Other portions of the program include "Diamond Jubilee March," written by Jon Kent Fischer, conductor of the band; "Legacy in Sound," a collection of pieces by LeRoy Anderson; songs from the movie, "Robin Hood;" "Chorale and Capriccio;" "Matador;" and "Bugler's Holiday."
The concerts, sponsored by the city since 1927, are under the direction of the Parks and Recreation Department.
