GORDONVILLE ROAD TO CLOSE

Motorists won't have access to St. Francis Medical Center or the Healing Arts Center from Gordonville Road after Thursday.

Gordonville Road will be closed from the north beginning Friday to allow the city to continue construction of the Silver Springs Road extension.

Patients and visitors should use extra caution during the construction project, said Richard Essner, director of environmental engineering at the hospital.

Maps have been distributed to doctors' offices and ambulance and van services.

Traffic coming to the hospital from Route K and St. Francis Drive will be affected by the road closure.

A new access route to the medical center campus will be available from the completed portion of Silver Springs Road.

Traffic coming from the Mount Auburn Road access will not be affected.

Once the new road is complete, the hospital expects better and quicker access to the campus, Essner said.
