U.S. Sen. Jim Talent will speak Saturday at the 36th annual Republican Lincoln Day dinner in Cape Girardeau. The dinner annually attracts at least 300 Republicans, more in election years, organizers said. The event will be held at the Arena Building, starting at 6 p.m. Talent will be joined by U.S. Sen. Kit Bond and other Republican leaders at the dinner, sponsored by the Cape Girardeau County Republican Women. Newly elected state Rep. Nathan Cooper of Cape Girardeau will serve as master of ceremonies. "It is the second-largest Lincoln Day in Missouri," said Cindie Jeter Yanow, club president. Tickets may be purchased at the door or by calling 335-3025.
