Cape Girardeau and Jackson have planned community worship services for Good Friday under sponsorship of the ministerial alliances.
The Cape Girardeau service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at First Church of the Nazarene. The sermon, based on the last words of Christ, features an illustration of each word. Seven area pastors will deliver the message.
In Jackson, the service will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 12:10 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Grant Gillard will preach.
St. John's Church in Leopold will meet at the church entrance at 2;30 p.m. Friday for a "way of the cross" walk to the church cemetery. The walk commemorates Christ's walk to Calvary.
