BLOOMFIELD -- Golden Cat Corp. will be getting some help in financing the training of a half-dozen employees.
State Rep. Marilyn Williams, D-Dudley, said the company has been approved for a $7,130 grant from the Misssouri Job Development Fund to help cover the cost of training workers.
Located on Highway Y east of Bloomfield, the company produces cat litter. Golden Cat Corp. has been in business for more than 50 years.
"The company is certainly an asset to our community and is even more so with the expansion of the Bloomfield facility with reported new capital investments of $3 million in equipment," said Williams.
The average wage of the workers being trained with the grant money is $12.55 an hour. The training project will be conducted locally by Three Rivers Community College.
